I was apprehensive about getting an implant. I hated the thought of someone screwing something into my jaw and I was hesitant to spend so much money on it. I finally went through with the implant and I am glad that I did. The procedure didn’t hurt. Dr. Espinosa is gentle and good at communicating about what he is doing. Dr. Luna did an excellent job getting the crown portion of my implant to fit just right. It both looks and feels like my normal tooth and I barely even notice that it’s there. This is my second testimonial, the 1st one shared 5 years ago. I recently had a problem with discomfort that was hard to diagnose which of two teeth was the problem. In trying to figure out what to do, Dr. Espinoza spent an enormous amount of time assessing my situation, and he consulted with Dr. Luna and by text, an endodontist who does root canals. After careful determination, he suggested three options for treatment, again not being 100% sure which option was best. He took his time explaining to me each option and not rushing me as I tried to decide which option to try first. Based on his recommendation, I chose the most conservative and least costly option first. Fortunately, for me, that was the right option, and I have no discomfort anymore in that area. My desire to write this second testimonial is to once again recommend and applaud this dental practice. My experience with Dr. Espinoza, his thoroughness, kindness, and willingness to take the time needed to offer the best diagnosis and treatment is outstanding! I needed an upper partial denture. The dentist and staff discussed MY needs and together we decided on what type would be most suitable. Definitely not a "one size fits all" approach. No rush, and each stage of the design and production, the intermediate and final fitting was done with care and precision. The final result is a tight fitting denture that doesn't and any play, does not allow food to get under it, and LOOKS GOOD!

Just last week, I was fitted with my permanent upper and lower dental implants: I didn't think that they could look better than than the temporary ones I was fitted with last fall, but-- much to my amazement-- these look and feel even better! Rafael Montalvo Carruthers: I would like to add to my previous comments from a year-and-a-half ago: I now have a mouthful of beautiful "teeth" (upper and lower 6-on- 1 dental implants) , thanks to the amazing skills of Dr. Espinoza and Dr. Luna. After years of embarrassment--due to so many missing and chipped teeth--the muscles in my face simply refused to relax enough for me to open my mouth, if not absolutely necessary. Crazy as it sounds, I'm actually having to retrain my face to smile with my mouth open--but at least now, I WANT TO DO SO! These Doctors are absolutely PHENOMENAL; they are utter PERFECTIONISTS...and they are unbelievably patient and kind. Likewise, their equally skilled staff--everyone of whom makes you feel like family, from your very first visit: Carla, Carolina, Gaby, Jessica, Luis, and Paloma. I said it in my last comment, I'll say it again: I'm actually looking forward to my next visit!!!

I cannot say enough good about Dr. Luna and Drs. Expinoza. My husband and I have made them "our" dentists. I've been to many dentists in my 69 years, but these three guys are, by far, the most professional, the most personable, and the most efficient dentists I have ever visited. While there, I am reminded how to best care for my teeth; I am included in, or informed of, the conversations that the dentists have when they are conferring with each other about some dental procedure that would be best for me; I am constantly asked if I am comfortable. Their bedside manner is the best. When you are in one of their chairs, you are the most important person to them at that time. They are genuinely concerned about the well being and the oral health of the patient. They do not jump back and forth between patients either. They work on ONE patient at a time. My only regret is that I did not find them sooner. We'll never go to another dentist. These guys are the best!

About 6 years ago I needed all my lower teeth pulled due to a lifetime of dry mouth (Sjogrens Syndrome) and now rotten teeth. Implants was my chosen method of recovery. In California the experience was quoted minimally at $60k so I considered having it done in Mexico. I chose Nogales as I could stay with a friend in nearby Green Valley, AZ. Looking online at that time Dr Espinoza was the leading candidate. The office was very helpful, I easily understood everything explained to me. The cost was about a quarter of U.S. estimates. My friends oriented me originally to Nogales and the dental office, although the office staff was very willing to help as well. I was pleased to see the modern and comfortable office. In the chair I was given terrific local numbing shots, 8 teeth were pulled during which I was awake, I asked questions, was informed along the way about the procedure (my preference). I felt it was one of the best dental experiences I'd ever had, having all those teeth pulled. I left with pins implanted and a temporary prosthesis, just like some TV ads say, and antibiotics and pain pills, printed info of how to care for myself. The temporary prosthesis broke during the months of healing, so I visited my friends again and got the prosthesis fixed in Nogales. I think the total cost of the whole experience was about $12k (flights, car rental, dental expenses). The next few appointments over the years for various needs went just as well. I first came to get full-mouth implants seven years ago. At the time, I was nervous about having the work done in another country but it cost about 1/4 what I was quoted in my hometown of Orange County, California. I cannot say enough about how great my experience has been. The implants were life-changing for me and the care and follow-up has been wonderful. I have come to really like Nogales as well, and I often laugh about having been worried about coming here years ago. It's been a good experience, and my only problem now is that I won't go to any other dentist!

When our daughter moved to Tucson from CA in 2018, she had 4 upper teeth and was wearing a very uncomfortable upper flipper. I had been to Dental Periogroup previously so I took her down for an evaluation. Dr. Espinoza and Dr. Luna recommended removing the 4 upper teeth and to then put in 6 implants and a full upper bridge. We did that. It required bone grafts, sinus lifts and a lot of patience on her part. She now has her great smile and self confidence back. You can see the results in the attached "Smiley Face". After the pandemic, we went back for additional work on her lower teeth. This included root canals, posts and crowns. She is now a happy camper thanks to Dr. Espinoza, Dr. Luna, Dr. Oscar and the staff at Dental Periogroup.

I have always had regular dental care. I certainly thought I was getting good, state-of-the-art dental care in the U.S. But when I lost my dental insurance, I decided to pursue a friend’s recommendation and try Dental Periogroup in Nogales, Mexico. If I hadn’t been confident, I’d have gotten my teeth cleaned and would simply not have gone back. Instead, they have become my regular dentists. I still live in Minnesota. But I have found that I can pay all of my travel expenses, plus the costs of dental care, and save money over the costs if I had gone to my local dentist at home. My dental story has been disastrous. I have thrown away thousands upon thousands of dollars on bridges and crowns and heroic dental work that have all failed. Some history is deserved. I had terrible teeth as a kid and the situation was worsened by my use of Fosamax as an aging woman. Essentially my jawbone was deteriorating so none of the work I was having done had a chance to succeed. I contacted them on a Monday; they fit me in the next day; start to finish, it was a very pleasant experience--in spite of the fact that I have major dental problems. Not only are they are skilled dentists, as the many comments indicate; they are awesome people as well! When I got lost after crossing at the border (it's so close, I don't know how that happened!), Luis, one of the dental assistants, was kind enough to wait on a street corner to guide me to the office; Gaby and Karla are very friendly and professional...and a lot of fun to chat with! Last but not least, Dr. Espinoza and his assistant, Paloma, were just wonderful: they were very patient with me, they took as much time as needed to address ALL my dental issues, as well as my financial concerns: They do great work, don't rush through the procedure; you feel like you're their only patient! I had to go to a dentist in Boulder Colorado during COVID-19. I have to share that dentist’s comment about the extensive work done by Dr. Espinosa. He considered Dr. Jose’s work as highly sophisticated dental care. And there you go, Dr. Jose’s education and background and work being complemented by US dentist.

I was referred to Dental Periogroup by friends from Tucson who raved about the care they were receiving from Dr. Espinoza. I took their advice and have been a patient at Dental Periogroup ever since. I have been continually pleased with the care I have received over the past five years. The most extensive procedure I have had is open flap surgery and a bone graft performed by Dr. Espinoza. In addition to his skill in performing the procedure, Dr. Espinoza explained what he was doing at each step, which helped me to feel relaxed and confident the entire time. Dr. Luna made and perfectly fitted a beautiful crown for me, and I am looking forward to the restoration of my two front teeth by him in the future. Dr. Camargo treated me for a cavity, and I was happy with her work also. When it comes to deep cleaning my teeth, this work is done by the doctors themselves and always followed by instruction on how to “properly” care for my teeth at home. The dental assistants are kind and always attentive to my needs. The reception staff always greet me with a friendly welcome and capably take care of my logistical needs. I left a Tucson dental office when they mandated I receive regular x-rays on their schedule and when I found dental costs to be rising. I am a health conscious person, educated about my health needs and want to be the ultimate decider for care I receive. I was nervous initially to go to Mexico for treatment not knowing the kind of technology they use or the level of training for Mexican dentists. I asked around and found some wonderful recommendations though from people I knew that they were satisfied with their care at this office. So I took the plunge. It's been a couple of years now that I and my husband have used this office for cleanings and a few other needed procedures. I am very happy I took the chance. My care has been outstanding. Most of my work has been with the younger Dr. Espinosa. I have utmost confident in him including the feeling that he is a kind and gentle person. He takes care doing his best to keep pain at bay and to make me comfortable. My husband has had experiences with other dentists in the practice and has had great care from them as well. I have also found technological advances in dental care here in Nogales that I had not experienced with my American dentists. That was an added and positive surprise. I appreciate the fact that I am able to use their services which are considerably less costly than in Tucson; for those folks who do not have lots of surplus cash, we are fortunate to have this practice that has a different business model

I have been a patient of the Dental Periogroup for a couple of years and I give them the highest recommendation. Dr Espinoza is extremely skilled as a periodontist and takes the time to explain everything he is doing and how to care for my teeth and implant. I saved over 1/3 the cost of an implant in the US. The office is so friendly - I actually look forward to my visits there. It is so easy to get to the office - no more than a 5 minute walk from the border. You can pick up some medications, or vanilla or blankets or whatever while you are there. I walk in Nogales feeling quite safe. People are helpful (or they want to sell me something). Sometimes coming back through US customs can take an hour; yesterday it only took 5 minutes! I keep telling my friends to get their dental work done at Periogroup because they it is first class treatment at a much lower cost - and friendly staff!

I am completely satisfied with everything to date from Dental Periogroup. I have submitted my claim, and will be getting reimbursed from my US dental insurance (Metlife) at the normal out of network rate. The funny thing is, even with what i paid cash (for which I was able to use my employer provided HSA savings) , i was saving thousands on what my portion of the cost would have been here in the states. The fact that i'm getting 25% of that out of pocket cost reimbursed to me is just the icing on the cake. In other words...top quality work, that if done in the USA would have drained my HSA savings, AND cost me a grand out of pocket...now was covered 100% and i got sent a check from my dentist for 500 bucks to do with as i please....done in 2 visits, complete quality work, top of the line equipment and dentistry implants, Got some good shopping done while i was on the other side of the border too... After the next year or two getting my major restorative work done, once i'm back to just maintenance visits, i might just drop my Dental insurance in the states altogether. I know i'll never be using a US dentist if i have a choice.

On the advice of a couple of friends, I just had my first visit (and procedures) with Dental Periogroup, and without hesitation, I can say it was all-around the best dental service I've ever had. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and Dr. Espinoza did a truly outstanding job of explaining every aspect of the procedures that he would be performing and even provided real-time progress reports as to where we were in the process. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable and for the first time ever I didn't feel like a faceless number that was just being processed as quickly as possible. Nor was I being hit with the normal high pressure upsell that I've experienced at every other dentist I've been to. The medical staff is not only highly professional but they went far above and beyond what was required as they found and fixed problems they uncovered on the spot that I had never been previously been made aware of (things that frankly my other dentists should have caught if they had just taken the time, or cared). I have been going to Dental Periogroup for several years now. Their dentists, dental assistants, and other office staff are highly competent, friendly & professional. They have been able to address all my dental needs from routine cleanings & exams, to more complex crowns, veneers, etc. And if you really want to refresh your spirit, visit their spa on the first floor for a massage, facial & other treatments. You can also visit the historic La Roca restaurant (right next door) for a delightful lunch or dinner. It all makes for such a pleasant experience, rather than the usual dreaded & dreary dental appointments to which you might be accustomed. After years of receiving the best dental care I could find in the States, I decided to follow a friend's recommendation to DentalPerioGroup for an assessment of problems that my dentists in Minnesota hadn't seemed willing or able to resolve. I am now a fan and patient for life of DentalPerioGroup. I love the cooperative spirit with which their specialists work together to address complex dental concerns. I appreciate more than I can say that they have gone out of their ways to accommodate my long-distance travels to get to their clinic. Their staff seems happy to be at work. The dentists sometimes serenade their patients while doing whatever needs to be done. They explain what they're doing, and are happy to answer questions. It's a happy, relaxed place. And the equipment is all state-of-the-art; some entirely new technologies that I had never seen in Minnesota. Their English is wonderful among the whole staff; that was a concern, but totally a non-issue once I arrived in their beautiful offices. I can't recommend this group highly enough. Dr. Espinoza Iniquez and his wonderful colleagues provided the best dental care my wife and I have had in 30 years. He is an excellent teacher who explained the source of both of our dental issues, was able to immediately treat them with very skilled, effective surgery and told us how to care for the teeth and gums post operatively so we've both had smooth recoveries. Prior to visiting the Dental Perio Group my wife had 2 U.S. dentists misdiagnose her condition but Dr. Espinosa Iniquez correctly caught what others missed. Dr. Espinoza Iniquez has an excellent eye for detail. He's a perfectionist, an excellent craftsman and is very kind. Treatment is very affordable. The office is beautiful and a short walk from the border in a completely safe area. The treatment began with the very kind and gentle Dr. Espinoza Robles taking impressions & X rays and all the staff - Gabby, Luis, Paloma, Jessica - couldn't have been more welcoming. There's a spa downstairs and this is as close to a 5 star spa experience as is possible for anyone to provide and still be dentistry! First time here, and just walking through the door was good vibes. All the staff were kind and welcoming. I found Periodentalgroup through a referral and though they were several hundred miles of travel their professional service was well worth it. Needing Sinus lifts, bone graphs and lower & upper dental implants I knew I needed to feel a sense of comfortably. I have been a patient of Dental Periogroup for several years. Dr. Espinosa and staff have been wonderful. I get far better care here than I've gotten from any dentist in Arizona. A year ago I had an accident that damaged several of my front teeth. Dr. Espinosa saw me immediately and was able to repair much of the damage and stitch my cut lips. My MD in Arizona later remarked what a nice job he had done and how well it was healing. I know many people are concerned with crossing the border for dental work. I've been to this dentist several times in the last few months and have never had a problem. The Morley Gate, just a block away is very convenient and I have not had any unusual long wait. The longest wait was caused by a computer glitch during a border patrol shift change. To date, I have never felt unsafe in my visits to the dentist. I have recommended Dental Periogroup to many friends and acquaintances, and all have been very pleased with the service and care they the receive. Kudos to Dr. Espinosa and his staff!

I'm just back from my 1st annual implant checkup with Dr. Espinosa. It was as terrific as the few visits in the last year in which I had a fixed lower denture implanted. I chose this group due to the doc's education, involvement with the industry and his progressive endeavors; the location and low price were important too. I stayed because the the doc is really good - gives excellent lectures on how to do better dental care; makes me feel confident that all will go well, he loves the work and is highly skilled and very efficient. The staff is helpful and easy to deal with. The place is sterile and assistants and docs wear protective coverings. Espinsosa senior is as gentle a dentist as his prodigy, just as caring, calm, experienced, and steady, unfortunately his english is llimited, and the assistants translate perfectly, it seems :) - he did an outstanding job filling worn tooth areas on my natural two front uppers. They look like new. Last year's procedure of getting the implanted denture was done with geat care, with surprisingly minimal discomfort. It was a very big deal but I felt safe and comfortable at all times. I enjoy coming to this dental office. There is usually an American or two in the waiting room and even they are pleasant and helfpul! Crossing the border into Nogales is effortless, I usually pick up a couple of Rxs on the way to the office at one of the many pharmacies. My wife and I went across the line on January 21, 2019 for our semiannual maintenance. We both were very well pleased with the professionalism of the dentists and staff. Everyone is bilingual making communication a breeze. Their equipment is state of the art, high quality. This was the first time I've experienced the use of a laser as part of the cleaning procedure. This morning we made a recommendation to a friend who was looking for a dentist. I've been questioned about the possible challenges crossing the border into Mexico and back. Simply put- not an issue. We simply walked through the Morley Gate in Nogales and greeted the Mexican immigration agent. The return requires, of course, a valid U.S. passport or Sentry pass. We don't have the Sentry Pass, however, being senior citizens we are able to use that shorter line and get priority with the U.S. Immigration agents. The agents are very courteous and efficient and we encountered no delays in returning home.

I was referred to Dental Periogroup by a woman that works with my wife. I was on the fence about using dental services in Mexico but having the referral gave me the push I needed. I drive 280 miles to get there. Does that tell you something? It takes me roughly 4 1/2 hours each way. I got sick and tired of being raked over the coals by American dentists. And that was with dental insurance! I have found Dental Periogroup to be honest, patient, thorough and highly professional. Let me tell you what I got during my initial visit. On my first visit They did a complete inspection with a full compliment of X rays, Digital pictures, and wax impressions of my upper and lower teeth. I also got a full deep clean by the actual dentist! I paid $75.00!!! Is that something to complain about? During my very first visit Dr. Espinoza introduced himself to me and thanked me for giving them a chance. I have been blessed to have Dr. Camargo as my dentist. I could not ask for a better dentist and there is not enough room here to sing her praises. The office staff? Not only are they adorable but they already know my name! My husband and I have been patients of Dr Espinoza and his staff for a number of years. We've never had a problem, an issue, or absolutely any reason to stop going. Dr. Espinoza and his staff spend much time explaining what we need, how long it will take, and the charges involved. We drive down from Tucson and on my last visit I really enjoyed my time between the root canal and the crown, dashing next door to La Roca for soup and a margarita. Nogales, Mexico is quite friendly and safe. If you get lost, just ask anyone the location of the La Roca Restaurant (good place for lunch), which is right next to the Perio-Group.) You can park at Ed's Parking, (on the map) and walk over the Border. There are two checkpoints through the Border, and are labeled on the map as: US Customs, and the Morley gate. We found it easier to enter through the US Customs gate, which is well marked as you approach the Border from the parking lot . Once across, look for the walking bridge, immediately to your left. Once on the bridge, you'll be facing the right direction and you will see the signage for La Roca. When you leave, it's best to leave from the Morley Gate because lines are long at the US Customs crossing. Just be aware that both shut down around 6pm and its a jaunt to the third border crossing, or so I am told.

for background:In December of 2011 I moved to Tucson, AZ. In 2012 I went to Dental Group at 22nd and Old Spanish Trail. I was told that I had to have periodontal surgery. I trusted the dentist and two appointment were set up with their periodontist. I had the surgery done. I paid over eight thousands dollars out of pocket. When I came back for my scheduled cleaning, I was told more surgery was needed. I asked why and the dentist said that I should have come back for a follow-up appointment and any problems were my fault. I am a very honest person; I was NEVER told by anyone to come back. At this visit, the dentist was extremely dismissive and left the room. When she returned, I was told it was in my chart. I ended up spending aleast two thousand dollars more out of pocket. The entire staff is fun to be around yet efficient in business issues. We drive 4 hours one-way for appointments but always look forward to the experience.

Finding Doctor Jose was by chance through a neighbor's glowing referral. When the USA dentist told me I needed bottom plate implants, I was leery and very nervous. Once I met Doctor Jose and his wonderful assistants, he put me at ease and eventually soothed my worries with his meticulous study and care of my issue. Now, I've had the bottom implants nearly three years and I can eat anything without pain or worries. I would recommend the office and the excellent dentists and dental assistants to care for minor to major dental issues. I feel very secure and confident here because Doctor Jose Luis always puts dental procedures and the person's needs on balance with their care.

I feel like Jose and his staff are like family, so courteous, caring, friendly, unassuming, helpful and fun. And they do great work! Dr. Espinosa tackled a compromised implant situation where infection ate a good portion of bone around the implants, and managed to save and restore most of my teeth. I somehow doubt that US dentists would even have tackled the situation, as it involves real work. I would - and have - recommend them to anyone. I would second all the positive remarks that others are making.

The efficiency of the doctors is comforting. The time they spend on the patient getting things absolutely correct is of utmost importance. The fact that every step is explained to the patient. The best dentists in the world are found right here at the PerioDental Group.

I am so blessed to have found Dr. Espinosa and his fabulous staff. Because of his meticulous approach to dentistry, I now have a full mouth of beautiful teeth supported by 12 implants. My care has been nothing short of phenomenal, professional and exquisite. Jan was quoted $70k for dental work in Tucson, where we live. We visited four dentist in Tucson so we had a good idea of the various options. When we first went to Nogales to evaluate the dental care we were discouraged. However, we persisted until we found Dental PerioGroup. While we started out being concerned about cost, safety and outcome, we discovered that the treatment Jan received was superior to anything we ever experienced in the United States. Dra Camargo, is a five star dentist who is a perfectionist at her work. I am pleased with the dental work she has done for me! I had a root canal, a crown replacement, an onlay and several cracked fillings replaced. I never felt any pain at all! Dra. Camargo's communication has been exceptional! In addition, the dentist that did my root canal, the Dental assistant, and the Office Manager, also deserve kudos and a five star rating! I highly recommend them all. Dr. Espinoza's entire staff all work very well together. I am now a life-long customer!
